First Fun Fair!

My first roller coaster! yeah! it was a bit scary for sure but mum held me tight and i tried to be brave. oh boy, i cant wait for the next time. Disney - here i come! Then we went on a train ride and it got a bit boring after a few rounds although it was fun waving to dada, nana and pappap as i went around.

Trip to Morzine

For our hols, we went to Morzine to enjoy a ski holiday, but apparently i dont get to ski for another couple of years. It was still fun though, and i got to ride on a carousel, a horse drawn carriage, and go sledding.

We went with mum and dad, nana and pappap,
and Gosia joined us as well so i had a friend
to play with.

Somehow the time went so quickly. But i just
loved the mountain air and cant wait to vroom
down the mountain when i get my skiis.

I got to meet Auntie Bronia and Simon, and Maja and Max as well as some of their friends. We had fun playing and going to their cocktail party where i got to go in pjs... oh boy!

Hopefully this will be the start of posting my
new adventures as they unfold and i’ll keep
you all in the loop.

Resting in the garden

Ah, what a difficult day its been...
Eating, napping, play time. Just the perfect opportunity for me to take a rest in our newly redone garden. Now, if only Mum and Dad would get that hammock!

Yummy, food!

So over the weekend, i got to taste something called food for the very first time. Strange, stuff, this food, and very brightly coloured! And i thought my play gym toys were colourful. On Saturday, Mum fed me sweet potato puree. Then Dad went for a fruit and fed me the mellower pear puree, and today Mum went back to the nuclear orange with butternut squash. they yummy... and the best part is the mess i get to make all over the place. This gonna be fun. Although i’m keen to try lots of different colours, Dad keeps whispering to me to avoid the green stuff! Yeah, like i’m gonna eat grass or something...

Today, mum took me into my room and instead of just going to sleep - we put on the mobile. It was fun - with lots of colours and shapes and animals. I think i watched it for like 20 years - or so it seemed to a 9 week old.

Afterwards, mum wanted me to take a nap, but i had other ideas. All i wanted was 15 min cat nap and then more playing. Oh, well, mum. Better luck next time.

My first friend - movie

So lets recount my happenings since we last ‘spoke’. That was Friday.

Yesterday, i had my first snooze in my own room in my own bed! It was a bit scary at first so i needed a few sucking sessions to get comfy, but it wasnt half bad. There is a mobile and wonderful lilac walls, and all over the cot are beautiful fish and ocean scenes. Much better than Mum and Dad’s bed. Brown leather... really, how boring! (but dont tell them or they may never let me back in :-()

On Sunday, Mum and I went for brunch with some friends and i got to come out and sit on Mum’s lap while she ate. It looked like she was having some raw meat which she was very excited about, but i’ll tell you i really prefer my milk. And its always perfectly done.

After brunch we rushed home and i got to meet Mara, and her parents Pierre and Alex. Mara is 9 and a half months old so thats like almost 5 times my age. That’s old. But she is so nice and gave me so many nice clothes and, of course, the ever so special, “My Breast Friend” - the cushion that mum and me use while breast feeding. At first i thought it was attached to Mum cause it always seems to be there (like Dad always says), but it seems that she actually takes it off sometimes. humph!

We hung out in the fireplace room and even the cats were there! Apparently, Mara really like playing with hair and so in the video she tries to play with mine. But i dont think that was so exciting for her - cause, well, i dont have so much hair. But we had fun anyway, and all the adults seemed to be very excited about our meeting. Strange.

Cant wait to see you again, Mara!

Well, seems its time for bed now, so i better have some good eating time before that following by some sucking and finally, a milk chaser course...

Hanging around house with Mum - movie

Today, Mum and I just hung around the house enjoying the New Year calm. We still had lots to do though, of course, cause there is never enough time for eating, sucking, and milk time. (some may think they are all the same thing, but i actually am very particular about my boob time).

We went for our weekly weighing in at the friendly Chiswick Health Centre. And lo and behold, I had gained another 300 grams, bringing me to 4.34 Kg or 9 lbs, 9 oz. See - all goes to show what good eating, sucking, and milking can do and why i need and want so much of it.

In the afternoon, we went to St Mary’s and i got to see my very own private paediatrician to discuss my seemingly unending jaundice. Come to think of it, it seemed like he knew quite a lot about babies, maybe mum didn’t mean that he was my private paediatrician but a private paediatrician for me to see. Oh well, i’m still trying to get the basics of language let alone the subtleties and multiple meanings. Please forgive me. Anyhoo - he said that all the serious tests that i took last week have come back normal. Apparently, I’m a tad high on one metric that measures the output of the hormone that is released by the brain to talk to the thyroid, but just slightly. The thyroid test came back normal so he isn't worried and he suggests that we test it again in about a month. He is happy that the continued (although fading) jaundice is not a problem. In addition, he my 8 week check up. He is very happy with me generally and here are some stats:

Length: 52.8cm
Head circumference: 35.8cm

Mum also spoke to him about my perpetual feeding, sucking, and milking. From his perspective I’m completely thriving and he tells Mum to leave well enough alone. Phew. I was worried there for a sec. Seems like Mum might try and give me some formula - what ever that is - but it doesn’t sound nearly as nice as my personally produced creamy fresh milk. I certainly see why they call it Mother’s Milk.

On Wednesday, the Christmas tree got taken down and removed. Boo hoo - i hope we have an even bigger one next year - with even more presents for me.

On Thursday, we went to the NHS paediatrician who talked to mum about immunisation or something like that - mustn’t be a nice topic though cause all the other babies getting an immunisation seems to be crying a lot - i don’t want that! I tried kicking mum a bit during the conversation so she had my input. I’m sure she understood.

At night, we went to Girls night with aunties Kabuki, Nnenna, And Tasha in Sloane Square. Now that was cool!

So, on Friday, Mum and i just stayed home and relaxed. Well more like eating, sucking, and milking. But i cant think of a better day. We also played with my play gym so here is a movie of Mum trying to convince me to do push ups. I indulged her a bit, but only because i thought it was the quickest way to get back to eating, sucking, and milking!

Time for me to go. Dad should be home soon so want to get in a good milking session before then, so i can play with him. For some strange reason he doesn’t have milking capacity. How sad :-(

New Years Day, 2009 - movie

Wow, the first day of a new year, and my first New Years Day! Dad gets to stay home with us as its a holiday. I get all cozily dressed up and do lots of fun things. here is a video of me in my high chair considering watching this thing called a tv with Baby Mozart playing. Its got some good tunes and some fun graphics. You should see it!

Christmas wind down - movies

How sad! Grandma Rose, Pap Pap, and Auntie Jan have all left to go back to Uniontown, although Grandma Pearl is still here (yeah!) the house is feeling awfully quiet. But I had a chance to play today and had my bottle top up with Dad. I’m certainly going to miss everyone - i like Christmas! Cant wait for next year.
